What Landlords Need to Know About Compliance Changes This Year
Regulatory requirements for landlords continue to tighten, and this year has brought further clarity around minimum energy efficiency standards and mandatory electrical inspection cycles.
Every rental property must hold a valid Energy Performance Certificate, and we strongly recommend landlords plan improvement works well ahead of any renewal deadline rather than scrambling at the point of re-letting.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports remain mandatory on a five-yearly cycle for all tenancies, and gas safety checks continue to be required annually without exception.
Our management clients have these dates tracked and actioned automatically as part of our service. If you're managing a property yourself, we'd always recommend a compliance calendar to avoid last-minute issues.
